Share price of Colgate-Palmolive (India) Ltd. gained 1.97 per cent to Rs 1664.0 at 10:20AM (IST) in Wednesday’s trade. The counter hit a high of Rs 1667.5 and low of Rs 1621.4 so far during the session. The stock had closed at Rs 1631.9 in the previous session.

The counter had a total traded volume of 10:20AM shares so far with a turnover of Rs 1.1 crore on BSE. The stock traded at a price-to-earnings multiple of 42.94 and a price-to-book ratio of 27.81.

A higher P/E ratio shows investors are willing to pay a higher price for per rupee earnings given by the stock because of better future growth expectations.

The company reported consolidated sales of Rs 1208.35 crore for the quarter ended 30-Jun-2022, down 7.77 per cent from the previous quarter’s Rs 1310.13 crore and down 3.17 per cent from the year-ago quarter’s Rs 1171.18 crore.

Its profit for the latest quarter stood at Rs 209.67 crore, down 10.1 per cent from the same quarter a year ago.
